Getting started
Choose a personal goal: chat with a loved one, order at the café or understand a message. Work on a few sentences, with their meaning and sound, then check if you can find them without looking.
A fifteen minute session
- Three minutes: recall yesterday's sentences without looking at your notes.
- Five minutes: listen to a short model and repeat in small groups of words.
- Five minutes: play out a situation by changing a detail.
- Two minutes: Write down what you achieved and a question to check.
If a session takes longer, keep the same goal the next day. The speed of progress depends on your experience, listening skills and speaking opportunities.

Guides to use during the program
- Greetings and thanks for the first few days.
- Introduce yourself to adapt a sentence to your situation.
- Ask to repeat to continue despite an unknown word.
- Digits and numbers for prices.
- Understand messages for written exchanges.
- Listening comprehension for short extracts.
When to work on grammar?
Darija has grammar and conjugations. Learn them from the phrases you use: who speaks, to whom, and when? Start with a pattern, then change a person or object with reliable correction.
Our conjugation guide completes the program. A memorized form to talk about yourself does not automatically transpose to a group or to the past.
Measuring progress without just counting words
At the end of each week, hide your notes and replay a scene. Note whether you understood the question, formulated an answer and asked for clarification when necessary. A successful exchange is more important than a long recited list.
Keep three categories in your notebook: “I recognize,” “I can say with help,” and “I can use alone.” After day 14, choose the most frequent need in your life and dedicate the following week to it. If you understand but are hesitant to speak, reduce the length of the answers and rehearse them with a partner.
